The service is hosted by Google Cloud (servers in Belgium). Data is stored with Supabase.

Kote identifies an item from a photo or a description and works out an estimate of its value from listings, sales and prices found online at the time of the search, using artificial intelligence.

An estimate is indicative, not an appraisal nor a price guarantee. It may contain identification or price errors. Check the listings it cites before buying or selling; for a high-value item, consult a professional appraiser.

Kote works without an account. A random identifier is created on your device to find your history again.

You agree not to:

• send unlawful content, or photos you do not hold the rights to;
• use Kote in an automated or abusive way, or try to work around its limits;
• value items whose sale is prohibited.

To protect the service, the number of estimates per day is also limited.

Three estimates are offered to try Kote, with no subscription, then one free estimate a week (it comes back 7 days after the previous free estimate and does not accumulate). Free estimates use the standard analysis. Item tracking (the star), automatic re-valuation and price alerts come with the subscription. Beyond that, you can get credits or a Kote subscription.

Credits: 100 credits (5 estimates) or 200 credits (10 estimates), at the price shown in the App Store for your country. One estimate costs 20 credits. Credits do not expire, are not refundable and stay tied to the device. Credits used for an estimate that fails are returned automatically.

Subscriptions:

• Yearly: billed once a year, with 30 estimates per 30-day period;
• Monthly: billed monthly, no commitment, with 50 estimates per 30-day period.

Some of these estimates may use the expert analysis, reserved for antiques, collectibles and handmade pieces (2 per period for the yearly plan, 5 for the monthly plan; free estimates use the standard analysis); the others use the standard analysis. Automatic re-valuations of tracked items count toward these estimates. Once the quota is reached, you can continue with credits.

Prices include applicable taxes; the exact price is the one shown by the App Store at the time of purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple account when the purchase is confirmed.

The subscription renews automatically, for the same period and at the same price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel it at any time in Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.

Refunds are handled by Apple, under its terms.

You remain the owner of the photos and descriptions you send. You allow Kote to process them to make the estimate and to keep a thumbnail of the photo in your history. Details are in the privacy policy.

Kote shows links to sites such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Mercari, Vinted, Leboncoin or Back Market. Kote is not affiliated with any of these sites and is not responsible for their content, their prices or the transactions made there.

Kote provides its estimates with care but without any guarantee of accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for a buying or selling decision made on the basis of an estimate, nor for a temporary unavailability of the service.

The app, its name, its logo and its design belong to the publisher. Any reproduction without permission is prohibited.

These terms may change. In case of a significant change, you will be told in the app. The update date is shown at the top of this page.

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. In case of a dispute, contact the publisher first at romainminettor@gmail.com. We do our best to find an amicable solution to any complaint.
