• Your photo, your description, the condition and your goal, sent to make the estimate. The full-size photo is not kept; only a small thumbnail is stored in your history.
• A random device identifier, created by the app. It contains neither your name, nor your email, nor your phone's advertising identifier.
• Your estimates: the identified item, its value and the listings found, to show your history and your collection.
• Technical anti-abuse data: the number of estimates per device and a hashed fingerprint of your IP address (the address itself is not stored).
• Your subscription status, if you subscribe. Payment is handled by Apple: Kote never has access to your payment details.
• Your Apple account, if you choose to sign in: only the anonymous identifier provided by Apple, to get your collection and credits back on a new iPhone. Kote receives neither your name nor your email.
• Usage statistics: app opens, plan views, purchases, shares. They stay in Kote's own database and are used to improve the app.
• Technical errors of the app (message and version), to fix bugs.
• Your feedback, if you give any: "value right or not", rating and message.
• Your preferences (categories, appearance, language and region), kept only on your phone.

Kote uses no advertising, no ad tracking and no third-party analytics tool: the statistics are made by Kote itself.

• Make your estimates and show your history (performance of the service you ask for).
• Protect the service against abuse and control its costs (legitimate interest).
• Build the price history of a product from the public listings seen during estimates, for all users. Only listing data (price, site, date, link) is used, never your photos nor your identifier (legitimate interest).
• Manage your subscription and, if you sign in, your account (performance of the contract).
• Improve Kote thanks to the statistics, the errors and your feedback (legitimate interest).

Your data is neither sold nor rented. It is entrusted only to the providers needed for the service:

• Anthropic (United States): the artificial intelligence that analyses your photo and runs the web searches. Under its commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models.
• Supabase: the database that stores your history.
• Google Cloud (servers in Belgium): the hosting of Kote's server.
• Apple: "Sign in with Apple", if you use it.
• RevenueCat (United States) and Apple: subscription management.

Transfers outside the European Union are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism.

• Your estimate history: as long as you use Kote, then 12 months after your last use, or until you ask for deletion. After that, your photo, what you typed and the link with your device are erased; only the item and its prices remain, anonymously, in the market history.
• Anti-abuse data: the fingerprint of your IP address is erased after 12 months; the rest, 12 months after your last use.
• Subscription data: for the duration of the subscription, then as required by law.

Under the GDPR and, where they apply, the consumer privacy laws of your country, you can ask for access to your data, its correction, its deletion, its portability, or object to a processing. To erase everything at once, use "Erase my data" at the bottom of your collection: your estimates, their photos, your tracked items, the link with your Apple account and your statistics are deleted immediately (your credits remain). For anything else, write to romainminettor@gmail.com with your device identifier, shown in the app.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the authority of your country.

Exchanges with the server are encrypted (HTTPS). The database is only reachable by Kote's server, never directly from the app.

Kote is not intended for children under 15 without a parent's consent. Subscriptions require an Apple account allowed to make purchases.

This policy may change with the service. The update date is shown at the top of this page.
