Commonquestions

Where do the prices come from?

Kote reads public listings and sales found online at the time of your search, on sites like eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Mercari, depending on your country. You see the listings it relies on, with their links. Kote is not affiliated with any of these sites.

Is it reliable?

It's an indicative estimate made by an AI, not an appraisal. It can get an item or a price wrong. Check the listings before buying or selling, and for a high-value item, see an expert.

How long does it take?

Usually less than a minute. A little longer for art and rare items.

Do I need an account?

No, the app works right away. You can sign in with Apple if you want your collection and credits on a new iPhone.

What happens to my photos?

They are used for the estimate. The full-size photo is not kept, only a thumbnail stays in your history. No ads, no data sold. “Erase my data”, at the bottom of your collection, deletes your estimates and their photos.

What about Android?

For now Kote is on iPhone only.
